1. What
is HomeWorks Referral Network?
HomeWorks
is a premier home improvement referral network. We
provide homeowners with a FREE and simple solution
for finding pre-screened, licensed and insured home
service professionals to fulfill their specific needs.
2. Why
should I use HomeWorks if I can ask my neighbors for
referrals or go online?
Of course
you will probably ask your neighbors for their opinions.
They will most likely have had some good experiences,
but they won’t necessarily know of the highest-rated
and most experienced professionals in the industry.
HomeWorks conducts a complete pre-screening process
to assure you will be getting contractors who are
best at what they do.
3. How
does the process work?
When you call
HomeWorks (or make a request on our website), we will
ask you for information about your project such as,
budget, schedule, location, availability, flexibility
or specific wishes. We will then match you with the
best contractor for your project. Your contractor
will call you the same day and make an appointment
to give you an estimate, if you would like. You are
under no obligation to meet with or hire the contractor
and you do not owe HomeWorks anything for the referral.
Once you meet with a contractor, you are still under
no obligation. If you are dissatisfied for any reason,
we will be happy to ask another contractor in our
network to contact you. HomeWorks is a completely
FREE service to you, no matter how many referrals
you request.
4. Do I
have to pay for anything? Is there any cost for me to
use HomeWorks?
Using HomeWorks
is completely FREE! You don’t have to pay a
monthly or annual fee like other referral networks.
5. How
is HomeWorks different from other referral networks?
a. We are
free! We don’t charge you anything - ever.
b. We have the toughest pre-screening standards. We
even meet with each and every contractor face-to-face
for an interview. No other referral service does that.
c. We don’t allow contractors to pay to be included
in our network, unlike other referral services. Only
those professionals meeting our high standards are
allowed onto our network.
d. We are the local experts and know the area. We
live here, we know the climate, we know the environment
and understand many homeowners’ needs in this
area.
e. Because we are local, we don’t pay a lot
of money for advertising to a national audience. The
fee we charge our contractors is only for work we
find them and is very low compared to other referral
networks. Therefore, our contractors don’t have
to increase their prices because of high advertising
or contract fees.
f. We have an on-going review process and ask our
customers to complete a satisfaction survey after
their job is finished. That way we can constantly
monitor our network to make sure every contractor
performs to our high standards and to our customer’s
satisfaction.
6. How
does HomeWorks make money if it’s a free service?
The home
improvement professionals in our network pay us a
commission for the contracts that we find them. Because
we don’t charge the contractor monthly fees
or high commission rates, they don’t have to
hike up their estimates, as many contractors are forced
to do with other referral companies. The commissions
paid to HomeWorks are not only fair but they are considered
to be a sales and marketing expense and are therefore
a tax write-off for the contractor. Our fee is money
that would otherwise be spent on their own marketing
and advertising costs.
7. How
does HomeWorks select contractors for their network?
We carefully
screen all our contractors to ensure that: They are
Licensed, Bonded, Certified and Insured. (If applicable)
They have at least five excellent customer references,
three of which are the last jobs they performed so
we can verify the current quality of their work. They
are in good standing with the Office of Consumer Affairs
and the Better Business Bureau.
Finally,
we sit down and interview each and every contractor
in our network. We know them personally and
work with them regularly. We see their offices and/or
work sites and meet many of their employees. Many
have become friends of ours. No other service, big
or small, knows their contractors like we do.
8. Can
any contractor be represented on HomeWorks’ referral
network?
No, not just
any contractor can be represented on our referral
network. All contractors must pass a rigorous screening
process to ensure they meet our high standards. After
a final in-person interview, we decide if a contractor
has the quality, dependability, skills and experience
for us to refer to our customers.
9. Can
contractors pay to be on HomeWorks referral network?
No, contractors
can’t pay to be represented by HomeWorks, therefore
their affiliation signifies a high level of craftsmanship
and integrity.
10. What
if I don’t like the contractor HomeWorks sends
to me?
HomeWorks
will refer the contractor who we feel will best fit
your needs. If you are unhappy for any reason then
we will refer another contractor from our network.
11. What
happens if I’m unhappy with the work the contractor
performs?
All the contractors
in our network guarantee their work. HomeWorks will
work with you both to facilitate a smooth and prompt
solution to any problem to assure your complete satisfaction.
12. Do
you guarantee the lowest price?
No, we do
not guarantee the lowest price. We guarantee you will
get an extremely skilled, reliable professional who
will do the job right the first time.
13. Who
do I pay?
You pay the
contractor for all work performed.
14. Will
the contractor charge me more to cover your commission
charge?
No, the commissions
paid to HomeWorks are not only fair but they are considered
to be a sales and marketing expense and are therefore
a tax write-off for the contractor. The money spent
on our commission would otherwise be spent on the
contractor’s own marketing and advertising efforts.
15. What
happens if I’m not able to reach a contractor
and have immediate questions or concerns?
You can reach
HomeWorks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are here
to assist you throughout your entire project whether
it’s answering questions or helping track down
a hard-to-reach contractor.

17. Does

Yes! Most
of our contractors provide green services. Just ask
us and we’ll find the right person for your
project.

green services do your contractors provide?
Virtually
any of our services can be made “green”
depending on the products you choose and the type
of installation required. Whether it’s cabinetry,
painting, lawn care, flooring – you name it
– our contractors are almost sure to meet your
green needs. We take pride in offering green services
and can give you the latest news on green products
or installations.
19. How
do I subscribe to and unsubscribe from the HomeWorks
newsletter?
Simply add
your email address in the space provided on our Homepage
to subscribe to our newsletter. We send them out quarterly
and they are full of helpful hints, tips for your
home and articles written by contractors in our network.
You can unsubscribe automatically anytime by clicking
on the link to be removed from the list.
20. What
is HomeWork’s privacy policy?
We will never
sell, share, market, publish or otherwise disseminate
your personal information other than that required
by law.
